How do I find items on this page?

You can start by selecting ‘Complete Collection‘ at the top of the page. Here you will find all of our items that we have listed over the years, with the most recent at the top, both sold and available for sale. It is a great place to see the different patterns and styles. It is our Virtual Museum.

If you are looking for items that are currently available for purchase, select ‘Available Items‘ to find all those that have not yet sold.

If you are looking for items from a specific region, you can select the town or region from the ‘Categories’ group in the right hand column to see our catalog of textiles from that region.

*a note on photos ~ a photo gallery in Flickr has been set up to see more photos of items in our collection. It can be found here. Please be aware that we do everything we can to most accurately present the colors of these items. They have such intense colors and sometimes, due to background colors or lighting, the colors in the photos are not the exact hue of the item. Please read the description and feel free to contact us if you are looking for an exact color. We would be glad to send additional photos or try to ensure that the color is what you expect.

How can I purchase an item?

You may purchase using our PayPal shopping cart and checkout. All prices and shipping will be calculated automatically once items are added to the cart. Purchases may be completed through PayPal using either an existing PayPal account or a major credit card (VISA/MasterCard).

Or, you may contact us to discuss your purchases and discuss possible discounts for purchasing multiple items. Using this method, once items are selected, you will be sent an invoice from Ixchel Textiles that details your purchase and includes a link directly to the PayPal payment page.

We want you to be happy with your purchase, and we welcome questions about our items. We would be glad provide additional photos of items upon request. Just ask!

Do you accept returns?

At this time, we currently do not accept the return of items. The reason for this is due to the stringent customs regulations for all incoming packages to Guatemala and the unreliability of the incoming mail services.

We will gladly provide additional photos, descriptions, and any other details you might need to ensure that you are comfortable with the condition of the item(s) you wish to purchase. Please just ask!

What about shipping?

All items are located in Guatemala, unless otherwise noted. We ship using Guatemalan post (a Canadian run company) and have had no problems in the arrival of items in our 10+ years of experience. Most items generally arrive in 15 – 20 business days via registered mail. The price of shipping is dependent on the weight of the items selected and the mailing destination.

Shipping costs are based on a tiered package weight. If you purchase multiple items we can sometimes add an additional item to your package with no increased shipping costs, please just ask!

How do I care for my item?

Most all items that we sell are daily use clothing items. Generally they have been washed numerous times before we have received them. All items we have washed ourselves to remove dust, dirt, and smells. Most textiles can be gently hand washed in cool water using a small amount of powder or liquid detergent pre-diluted in water. Once rinsed, they should be either hung or laid flat to dry. We recommend testing a small corner of the fabric for color fastness. When in doubt, please don’t hesitate to ask us, we would be glad to help.

What if I don’t see an item I am looking for on your web page?

Please don’t hesitate to ask! We love looking for special request items! It is sometimes a challenge, but we have access to items from many of the numerous regions of Guatemala, and have been known to find a few items from Mexico as well.
