The thread used to weave this tzute range from acrylic and lustrina to wool and silk. It is an amazing mix of colors and textures. Where the two lienzos join, there is a lovely randa of flowers that is machine embroidered. The background fabric is woven black cotton with accent stripes on the sides of pink, purple, blue, and green. Due to the thickness of the weaving, this tzute is fairly heavy.
This tzute is in excellent used condition, with no sign of wear.

Coban
Very lovely! Woven corte, or mayan skirt, black with white stripes and silver thread! It is from the town of Coban. The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body and folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt).
This wonderful and striking corte measures 40″ wide and 82″ long (doubled). Cortes are sewn together to make a tube. This corte has the opening at the sides as shown in the picture of the corte hanging. If the stitching joining the sides of the tube were removed, this fabric would measure approximately 40″ by 164″ laid out flat. There is an extra matching piece of fabric added at the bottom of the corte (on the width to make it 40″wide) to make it longer for taller women. This corte is fairly heavy due to its length; it weighs 2 1/2 pounds.
This corte is beautiful with its simple design that is common for the Coban region. The photos do not show how beautiful this corte is.
This corte is in great used condition, and very soft, with very little sign of wear.
