526 Camisa Todos Santos-0217Todos Santos Cuchumatán

Very striking man’s camisa/shirt with beautiful woven accents! It is from Todos Santos Cuchumatán in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. This colorful and thick camisa measures 22 1/2″ across the shoulders (in the back), and 45″ around the chest (under armpits-measured laid flat & doubled). The sleeves measure 20 1/4″ in length from the shoulder seam to the tip of the sleeves.

This camisa is striking with woven accents at the collar and on the sleeves. The collar weaving is on both sides, making it thick and warm against cold and wind. The collar flap is generous in width. The background fabric is white and blue striped cotton with multicolored accent stripes. There is a row of more colorful stripes down the center in the front and in the back. This thick fabric has a ‘denim’ feel and is a very sturdy weight.

Please note that this item can be combined with the sombrero and pants from Todos Santos Cuchumatán that we have for sale, to have a man’s outfit from the pueblo. Great photo of how they are generally worn here.

This Mayan shirt is in great vintage condition, with a couple of very faint stains. There is also a very tiny (1/2″) singe mark on the lower section of one sleeve. Does not detract from this unique textile! All snaps work. This would be great worn as a shirt or as a jacket for cooler weather, or as a stunning decoration piece!
