Corte
Woven young girls’ corte, or mayan skirt, crisp navy blue design with beautiful accent trim! The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth usually joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body and folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt).
This colorful small corte measures 29 1/2″ wide and 58″ long (laid flat). Cortes are generally sewn together to make a tube, but this one is not. It is a full flat piece of fabric.
This corte is beautiful with its classic navy blue design with white stripes. The accent stitching is free-hand machine embroidery in shades of green and brown.

Nahualá
Darling young boys’ camisa shirt from the Nahualá region of Guatemala. This deep red camisa measures 19 1/2″ across the shoulders from tip to tip, not including the 11″ length of each sleeve. The length from shoulder to bottom edge is 23 1/2″. The head opening is a generous hemmed slit down the front with a decorative collar. This camisa has been constructed to allow expansion in both the bodice and the length and width of the sleeves with some basic stitching. It appears to be able to be expanded approximately 6″ across the chest and 3″ on each of the sleeve lengths and 1 1/2″ on the diameter of each sleeve.
This camisa is woven in a soft red cotton blend and trimmed with classic geomorphic diamond patterns that are traditional in the area of Nahualá. The accent patterns are mainly yellow with pink, green, purple, and a variety of other colors woven in predominantly acrylic threads. The background fabric is deep red with stripes of white, green, yellow, blue, and orange.

This camisa is in excellent condition; almost like new. There is slight fuzzing of the threads on the collar area, more than likely due to storage. A great chance to have a wonderful boys’ camisa. Perfect for display or wear!

Coban
Beautiful, smaller, light-weight eyelet style blouse from the region of Coban. This huipil would be perfect for a young girl to wear! This huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, 20″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6 1/2″ in diameter. The sides have been stitched to create armholes.
This delicate white huipil is fully hand embroidered around the collar on a commercial style light-weight background. The design around the collar and on the sleeves includes rows of beautiful tiny flowers in a variety of colors. The background fabric is soft white. The sleeves are trimmed with a black crochet accent.

This huipil is in very good condition, with a few minor signs of wear. There are a few very tiny spots on the bodice. The photo is a bit darker than the actual huipil to emphasize the eyelet design of the background fabric, but it is a wonderful bright white. This is a darling huipil, perfect for a young girl or for display!

Patzún
Super sweet, smaller ‘mayan calendar’ design huipil with beautiful weaving and striking embroidery! Perfect for a younger girl (age 6 – 10). It is from Patzún in the Chimaltenango region of Guatemala. This lovely huipil measures 26″ across the shoulders, and 18″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5″ in diameter, with a small 1/2″ slit in the front and the back to ease pulling over the head. The sides have been sewn to create armholes.
This huipil is exquisite with a hand embroidered design radiating from the collar. The sleeves are capped with coordinating embroidery. The style is that of the mayan calendar, with blocks of flowers and feathers circling the neck opening in a rainbow of colors. It is more similar to the vintage ceremonial style huipiles instead of the more modern ones of all flowers.
The background fabric is an incredibly soft burgundy/red with bands colored stripes. This huipil is wonderfully soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye!

Patzicía
Sweet young girl’s huipil from the Patzicía area of Guatemala. This smaller huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, and 16″ – 17″ (back shorter than front) from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is diamond shaped, and each side measures 4 1/4”. The seam in the center has been opened approximately 1″ in both the front and back in order to make the opening a bit larger. This can easily be restitched. The sides have been stitched closed to create armholes.
This huipil has the classic geomorphic shapes throughout the bodice that is the style of huipiles from Patzicía. The accents are in a rainbow of colors. They are woven on a super soft deep burgundy, striped cotton background fabric that is very popular in the Patzicía and Patzun areas. This super soft weaving is of a medium weight.

Quetzaltenango
Colorful vintage smaller huipil with beautiful weaving and striking embroidery! It is from the Quetzaltenango region of Guatemala (Frequently referred to as Xela). This stunning huipil measures 23 1/2″ across the shoulders, and 22″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5 1/2″ in diameter. The sides are stitched to create armholes.
This brightly colored huipil is accented with embroidery that features flowers and doves around the neck and flowers down the front and back on a woven background. The detailed embroidery on the collar is roses of pink, blue and red with matching patterns on front and back. The woven background is full of colors of yellow/gold and burgundy. The neckline and sleeves are trimmed with a royal blue velvet accent trim.

This vintage huipil is in good/fair used condition. The lower white cotton section has a few discolorations and faint stains. Some of the stitching is slightly worn. This is a very lovely vintage textile.

Chichicastenango
Classic smaller Vintage Huipil from Chichicastenango! Traditional tapestry style with beautiful floral design. Fantastic texture and color! Very stunning woven huipil from the Chichicastenango region of Guatemala, famous for having one of the largest markets in the country. This smaller huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, 21 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 4 1/2″ in diameter, with a tab-closed slit of 2 1/2″.
This three panel huipil is striking with elaborate woven that features multi-colored classic flower design in pink, purple, blue, red, green and many more colors. The neckline is decorated with the radiating sun in red and black. The background fabric is heavy-weight black cotton.
This huipil is in very good used condition with a few flaws, perhaps a few loose threads. There is a small amount of wear around the collar. The lower edges of the panels have a loose warp where the extra threads are woven back into the huipil (very common for huipiles from Chichicastenango). The snap at the collar tab has come unstitched and would need to be replaced. The background fabric is slightly faded.

This colorful small corte measures 33″ wide and 74″ long (laid flat). Cortes are generally sewn together to make a tube, but this one is not. It is a full flat piece of fabric.
This corte is beautiful with its colorful design with stripes of green, purple, yellow, blue, yellow, and more. One half of the corte has beautiful machine embroidered decorations of baskets filled with flowers and small birds circling the basket.
This corte is in very good used condition, and is very soft, with a few signs of wear.

This flower-filled child’s huipil is from the area of Patzún. This lovely huipil measures 21″ across the shoulders (16″ wide across the mid/lower section), and 17 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is square and measures 5 1/2″ x 5″ in diameter.
This huipil is a lovely green color and has machine embroidered flower and bird decoration throughout the upper bodice and on the sleeve caps. The collar and is trimmed in with a simple machine stitching. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.
This huipil is in good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. There is some minor wear around the collar and a few loose threads.

San Juan Sacatepéquez
Very striking child’s huipil! This huipil is from the town of San Juan Sacatepéquez. This darling huipil measures 18” across the shoulders, and 18″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is circular and measures 4” in diameter.
This huipil is beautiful with its deep colors of purple, burgundy, and gold/yellow that features the traditional animal motifs found in the huipiles of San Juan Sacatepéquez, including the feathered serpent. The colors of the figures are yellow, royal blue, and green. The neckline and sleeves are accented with black crochet.
This huipil is in very good used condition, with very little sign of wear.

Darling child’s huipil in the style of the area of Coban. This huipil measures 27 1/2″ across the shoulders, 17 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 4 1/2″ in diameter.
This sweet huipil is fully hand embroidered on a cotton blend commercial material. The design aound the collar and on the sleeves includes beautiful flowers and birds, with a basket in the center of the design. The colors are reds, purples, blues, and yellows. The background fabric is light blue in color. The sleeves and collar are trimmed with a black crochet accent.
This huipil is in very good condition, with a few minor signs of wear. The bodice has creases in the fabric where the huipil was gathered and sewn to make it smaller, and there is some slight discoloration in the background fabric.

Sololá
Darling child’s blousa huipil from the department of Sololá. Traditional ikat style woven stripes throughout the bodice with accent weaving across the shoulders and the sleeves, and machine-embroidered accents on the front and back. Simple open collar. This blouse-style is common for the Sololá area with added sleeves and a longer hem.
This vintage huipil is in good used condition. The weaving has a small amount of wear.

San Antonio Aguas Calientes
Sweet young girl’s vintage huipil fom the San Antonio Aguas Calientes area of Guatemala. This small huipil measures 23″ across the shoulders, and 17 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is diamond shaped, and measures 4 1/2” on each of the four sides, with an addition 1″ slit in both the front and back seam to allow more headroom.
This intricately woven huipil has the traditional rows of zigzag mountains and triangular patterns of the rivers. The bird and flower design at the shoulders as well as the center panel on both sides are done in the very fine and detailed San Antonio weaving style where the pattern is identical both inside and out. The weaving is incredibly fine, causing this vintage huipil to be wonderfully soft to the touch. This little girl’s huipil was more than likely handed down to all the young girls in a family.
The colors are a full spectrum of green, blue, orange, red, yellow and much more. The design is woven on a red woven cotton base.
This huipil is in good used condition. Due to the age of this huipil, it shows some minor signs of wear such as color variations due to fading, a few loose theads, and a few tiny holes in the lower red section caused when the the seam to narrow the shoulders was removed.

Tactic
Lightweight vintage child’s huipil from the Tactic region. This darling huipil measures 19″ across the shoulders, and 11″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is scalloped shaped and measures approximately 5 1/2″ by 5 1/2”.
This huipil is elegant with its deep red color and simple weaving style with satin soft thread that features rows of tiny ‘mayan stars’ and the classic zigzag pattern of Tactic. The accent colors are red, pink, peach, and burgundy. The background fabric is a deep-red cotton.
This huipil is in fair/good used condition, the flaws being a few pulled or loose threads as well as slight creases across the shoulders where they previously been gathered.

Todos Santos
Lovely child’s huipil from the town of Todos Santos. This huipil measures 22″ across the shoulders and 19 1/2″ from the shoulders to the bottom edge. The neck opening is sqaure and measures 2″ by 3″ with an additional 3″ slit openening on each side of the neck.
This sweet huipil is in very good condition with some slight wear on the blue lace section around the collar.

Santiago Atitlán
Great little boy’s traje or outfit from Santiago Atitlán. This is the classic style for the men and boys from this lakeside town. It is a three piece outfit. The camisa or shirt measures 15” across the shoulders in the back, 17 ½” from the collar to the bottom hem, and the sleeves measure 13” in length. The pantelones or pants measure 18 ½” across the waist (double for full waist size) and 21” from the waist to the bottom hem of the pants. These pants are made square in design and are meant to be gathered at the waist using the faja as a belt. The faja measures 64″ long, not including the fringe which measures an additional 4” on each end. It also measures 5” in width.
This traje is fully hand woven. The camisa has three buttons down the front with a small breast pocket. The collar is accented with a coordinating woven pattern. The pantelones are made in the classic red and white striped Santiago style with colorful accents in a grid pattern on the legs. The faja is woven in a beautiful rose and black design.
All of the items in the traje are in good used condition. The camisa and faja have a few loose threads, and the pantelones have some faint staining in the white section above the designs as well as a few loose threads.

Santa Maria de Jesús
Very darling child’s embroidered huipil, full of lifelike quetzales! It is from the town of Santa Maria de Jesús. This lovely huipil measures 21″ across the shoulders, and 21″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5″ in diameter. The sides have had the stitching removed to open the arm holes, but can easily be restitched if desired.
This huipil is absolutely beautiful with brilliant colored embroidery that features two quetzales (national bird of Guatemala) on each side of the huipil in a flower garden full of wonderful flowers and playful bunnies. The colors are glowing jewel colors of greens, pinks, blues, purples, oranges, yellows and more! The neckline is accented with black crochet. The background is a black commercial cotton blend fabric. The embroidery is machine done free-hand, and is truly an art form. Just amazing! This is a wonderful example of the incredibly beautiful ‘fiesta’ huipiles of Santa Maria de Jesús.
This huipil is in good used condition with some loose threads throughout the bodice as well as small hole on one side in the background fabric perhaps caused when the sleeve stitching was removed. This can be easily repaired and is not readily visible.

San Antonio Aguas Calientes*
Sweet young girl’s huipil made in the style of the San Antonio Aguas Calientes area of Guatemala. This small huipil measures 20″ across the shoulders, and 13 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is scallop shaped, and measures 5 1/2” wide by 51/2” long.
*This huipil was actually made in the neighboring town of Santa Maria de Jesús with the design style of San Antonio Aguas Calientes; as can be seen in the beautiful loros (parrots) and birds across the shoulders and in the center on both sides.
The colors are predominantly green, blue, orange, red, and yellow. The design is hand embroidered on a heavy black woven cotton base. The sides have been stitched together to create the sleeve openings.
This huipil is in very good used condition. There is some slight wear in the form of a few loose threads and fading/discoloration of the cotton trim used on the inside of the collar (not seen from the outside) and the trim on the bottom edge of one side.
