This darling little flower-filled huipil is from the area of Patzún. This very small huipil measures 17″ across the shoulders, and 13 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 4 1/4″ in diameter. Please note this huipil would be the size for a baby or toddler.

This huipil is beautiful deep bronze colored and has the traditional flower ring around the collar that is trademark of the Patzún region. The flowers are all hand embroidered in wonderful matching colors. The collar and sleeves are trimmed in black crochet. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.

This huipil is in good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. There is some minor wear at the neckline. The lower area shows where the extra thread was woven back into the huipil (slightly lumpy). These very small huipiles make wonderful wall hangings, especially in groups of two or three!

Classic smaller Vintage Huipil from Chichicastenango! Traditional tapestry style with beautiful floral design. Fantastic texture and color! Very stunning woven huipil from the Chichicastenango region of Guatemala, famous for having one of the largest markets in the country. This smaller huipil measures 23″ across the shoulders, 18 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 4 1/4″ in diameter, with a snap-closed slit of 2 1/2″.

This three panel huipil is striking with elaborate woven that features multi-colored classic flower design in pink, purple, blue, orange, green and many more colors. The neckline is decorated with the radiating sun in red and gray. The background fabric is heavy-weight black cotton.

This huipil is in very good used condition with a few flaws, perhaps a few loose threads. There are some loose threads at the collar and the snap pulled loose. The lower edges of the panels are slightly faded due to how it was stored. This textile would make a fantastic wall decoration or a young girl’s blouse!

Ornate smaller blousa huipil from the area of Santiago Chimaltenango. Unique blouse style huipil worn only in two areas of Guatemala. This huipil is beautifully woven with stripes throughout the bodice with accent squares of Mayan geomorphic figures weaving across the chest, back, shoulders and sleeves. Simple open collar. This blouse-style with added sleeves is common for the areas of Santiago Chimaltenango and Sololá.

This smaller huipil measures 20″ across the shoulders (not including the length of the sleeves), 23″ from the shoulders to the bottom hem, and the neck opening is a trimmed collar that measures 19″ in total circumference including a slit down the front that measures 4 1/2″ in length. The sleeves each measure 8″ in length.

This huipil is accented with acrylic blend thread designs on a woven red cotton background fabric. The accents are in a variety of pastel hued colors including greens, pinks, purples, lemon yellows, etc. Very lovely to look at! There are detailed geomorphic figures on the front and mayan stars woven below the collar.

Very detailed woven huipil from the village of Nebaj. This striking smaller huipil measures 21″ across the shoulders, and 22″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5 1/4″ in diameter. The sides have been stitched to create armholes.

This huipil features extensive and elaborate weaving of geomorphic figures including various birds, deer, and horses that are representative for the area of Nebaj. The colors are a variety of greens, lavenders, and blues. The background is white cotton with blue stripes. An additional trim of woven burgundy cotton has been added at the bottom to extend the length of the garment. The collar has been trimmed with a deep burgundy fabric and accented with trim of green, blue, and white.

Beautiful classic huipil from Chajul full of color! This very nice smaller huipil measures 23″ across the shoulders, 19″ from the neckline to the bottom edges. The neck opening is more or less square (scalloped) and measures 4 1/4″ on each of the four sides. The sides have been stitched closed to create armholes.

This crisp, classic huipil is lovely with traditional geomorphic animal figures woven on a black cotton blend background. The design is a mix of gold, turquoise,  white, purple, and other colors. The design is classic for the town of Chajul with figures of double headed eagles across the bodice on both sides. The shoulders  and sleeves are accented with a coordinating geomorphic design. The threads in the designs are mostly lustrina. The background fabric is medium weight woven cotton blend in deep black.

Very detailed vintage huipil from the village of San Juan Cotzal. This striking smaller huipil measures 24″ across the shoulders, and 27″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is roundish/square and measures 5 1/2″ in diameter. The sides have had the stitching removed to open the arm holes, but can easily be restitched if desired.

This huipil features extensive and elaborate weaving of geomorphic figures that are representative for the area. There are many birds, deer, owls, and people woven throughout. The weaving is a rainbow of colors woven on a red and white horizontal striped background. The lower sections under the designs are a simple white cotton. The collar has been trimmed with a deep burgundy fabric and accented with narrow green, red, and blue stitching.

This huipil is in good used condition with some signs of wear. There are a couple of small stains in the bodice and a couple in the lower white section, but nothing to detract from the beauty of this vintage textile. Perfect for display or wear!

Unique vintage blouse style huipil from the town of Joyabaj. This huipil has the sides taken in so that it more resembles a blouse. This huipil measures 34 1/2″ from sleeve tip to sleeve tip and 18 1/2″ from the shoulder to the bottom edge. The neck opening is round and measures 6″ in diameter. The sides have been stitched closed to create armholes.

This classic huipil is machine embroidered with the traditional Joyabaj circular design that radiates from the collar in a spectrum of colors. In the center of each circle is an accent of metallic thread. The caps on the sleeves have the same circular decoration. The background fabric is a red woven cotton blend with tiny stripes of black, white, and brown.

This huipil is in good used condition, with some wear on the embroidery especially on the chest and a bit on the sleeves. It appears that there has been some slight repair of the worn threads by the previous owner. There is some loose stitching where the panels join. A lovely vintage textile!

Classic vintage huipil with wonderful colors from the town of Todos Santos Cuchumatán. This lovely huipil measures 29″ across the shoulders and 23″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is square and measures 2 1/2″ by 4″ with additional tie-closed 2 1/4″ slits on each side of the opening. The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This daily use vintage huipil is striking with delicate woven designs that feature mayan stars, flowers and zigzag rivers throughout the bodice on both sides. This style of weaving leaves the loose ends on the inside, creating a shaggy lining that aids in warmth in the high mountain area. The huipil is accented around the collar with triangles of applique that is classic to the area. The sleeve openings are trimmed with a purple cotton accent. The background fabric is a rich turquoise colored cotton.

This vintage huipil is in very good used condition. There are a few loose threads and some very slight fraying at the sides of the neck opening. There is a tiny cut through part of the fabric at the bottom on one side. A wonderfully detailed huipil!

Whimsical huipil with beautiful weaving and design! It is from San Juan Atitán in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. This bright huipil measures 30″ across the shoulders and 18″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is square and measures 4 1/2″ by 5″. The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This daily use huipil is darling with woven designs that feature whimsical mayan geomorphic animals throughout the shoulders and bodice on both sides. There are turkeys, ducks, cats, quetzales,  and corn plants. There are a few added figures in the lower section on both sides. The neck, shoulder, and chest area is woven with cotton and acrylic threads that have a multitude of colors including red, purple, and pink. The soft background fabric is cotton with red, purple and white stripes. The neckline and shoulders are trimmed with a hand embroidered accent. There is a delicate fringe at the bottom on both sides.

Cute little girl’s faja (belt) made in the town of Santa Maria de Jesús (but of a generic design). Fajas are used as the belt to hold up the corte (skirt) in the mayan traje or outfit. This beautiful petit faja measures 84″ long, with an additional 5″ of tassel on each end. It also measures 1 1/8” wide. The stitched flower design runs approximately 37” of the total length.

This faja is woven in a eye catching purple color and is accented with a very simple hand embroidered design. The flowers are a complimenting spectrum of colors.

Striking little girl’s faja (belt) made in the town of Santa Maria de Jesús. Fajas are used as the belt to hold up the corte (skirt) in the mayan traje or outfit. This beautiful petit faja measures 67″ long. It also measures 2 1/2” wide. The woven geomorphic design runs approximately 28 1/2” of the total length.

This faja is woven in the classic red, blue, green and purple color that is seen in the traditional huipiles from Santa Maria de Jesús, along with the complementary diamonds and turkeys. It has simple braids made of the extra threads at each end. This style of faja is not seen too often as many have started wearing the less expensive machine embroidered fajas.

Woven young girls’ corte, or mayan skirt, crisp navy blue design with beautiful accent trim! The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth usually joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body and folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt).

This colorful small corte measures 29 1/2″ wide and 58″ long (laid flat). Cortes are generally sewn together to make a tube, but this one is not. It is a full flat piece of fabric.

This corte is beautiful with its classic navy blue design with white stripes. The accent stitching is free-hand machine embroidery in shades of green and brown.

Darling young boys’ camisa shirt from the Nahualá region of Guatemala. This deep red camisa measures 19 1/2″ across the shoulders from tip to tip, not including the 11″ length of each sleeve. The length from shoulder to bottom edge is 23 1/2″. The head opening is a generous hemmed slit down the front with a decorative collar. This camisa has been constructed to allow expansion in both the bodice and the length and width of the sleeves with some basic stitching. It appears to be able to be expanded approximately 6″ across the chest and 3″ on each of the sleeve lengths and 1 1/2″ on the diameter of each sleeve.

This camisa is woven in a soft red cotton blend and trimmed with classic geomorphic diamond patterns that are traditional in the area of Nahualá. The accent patterns are mainly yellow with pink, green, purple, and a variety of other colors woven in predominantly acrylic threads. The background fabric is deep red with stripes of white, green, yellow, blue, and orange.

Beautiful, smaller, light-weight eyelet style blouse from the region of Coban. This huipil would be perfect for a young girl to wear! This huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, 20″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6 1/2″ in diameter. The sides have been stitched to create armholes.

This delicate white huipil is fully hand embroidered around the collar on a commercial style light-weight background. The design around the collar and on the sleeves includes rows of beautiful tiny flowers in a variety of colors. The background fabric is soft white. The sleeves are trimmed with a black crochet accent.

Super sweet, smaller ‘mayan calendar’ design huipil with beautiful weaving and striking embroidery! Perfect for a younger girl (age 6 – 10). It is from Patzún in the Chimaltenango region of Guatemala. This lovely huipil measures 26″ across the shoulders, and 18″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5″ in diameter, with a small 1/2″ slit in the front and the back to ease pulling over the head. The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This huipil is exquisite with a hand embroidered design radiating from the collar. The sleeves are capped with coordinating embroidery. The style is that of the mayan calendar, with blocks of flowers and feathers circling the neck opening in a rainbow of colors. It is more similar to the vintage ceremonial style huipiles instead of the more modern ones of all flowers.

The background fabric is an incredibly soft burgundy/red with bands colored stripes. This huipil is wonderfully soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye!

Sweet young girl’s huipil from the Patzicía area of Guatemala. This smaller huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, and 16″ – 17″ (back shorter than front) from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is diamond shaped, and each side measures 4 1/4”. The seam in the center has been opened approximately 1″ in both the front and back in order to make the opening a bit larger. This can easily be restitched. The sides have been stitched closed to create armholes.

This huipil has the classic geomorphic shapes throughout the bodice that is the style of huipiles from Patzicía. The accents are in a rainbow of colors. They are woven on a super soft deep burgundy, striped cotton background fabric that is very popular in the Patzicía and Patzun areas. This super soft weaving is of a medium weight.

Colorful vintage smaller huipil with beautiful weaving and striking embroidery! It is from the Quetzaltenango region of Guatemala (Frequently referred to as Xela). This stunning huipil measures 23 1/2″ across the shoulders, and 22″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5 1/2″ in diameter. The sides are stitched to create armholes.

 This brightly colored huipil is accented with embroidery that features flowers and doves around the neck and flowers down the front and back on a woven background. The detailed embroidery on the collar is roses of pink, blue and red with matching patterns on front and back. The woven background is full of colors of yellow/gold and burgundy. The neckline and sleeves are trimmed with a royal blue velvet accent trim.

San Juan la Laguna

Striking huipil from San Juan la Laguna. The collar is accented with the classic ‘sun’ design circling the neck opening that is most often seen in huipiles from Chichicastenango. This two lienzo huipil measures 34″ across the shoulders, and 17 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures approximately 5 1/2″ in diameter (small). The background fabric is a super soft deep burgundy-red woven cotton.

The accent around the collar is also red with a light cream color trim. This is also the same color scheme used down the center on both sides to join the panels. The background fabric is woven super fine and is buttery soft to the touch.

Woven corte, or mayan skirt, ikat design with loads of color! The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth usually joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body and folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt).

This colorful small corte measures 33″ wide and 74″ long (laid flat). Cortes are generally sewn together to make a tube, but this one is not. It is a full flat piece of fabric.

This corte is beautiful with its colorful design with stripes of green, purple, yellow, blue, yellow, and more. One half of the corte has beautiful machine embroidered decorations of baskets filled with flowers and small birds circling the basket.

This corte is in very good used condition, and is very soft, with a few signs of wear.
