Very heavy and very large vintage huipil with early weaving and design! It is from Almolonga in the Quetzaltenango region of Guatemala. This expansive huipil measures 33″ across the shoulders, and 32″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5 1/2″ in diameter (very small).

This vintage huipil is unique with early woven design of the Almolonga region that features geomorphic designs in beautiful colors throughout the bodice on both sides. These designs are not often seen anymore. The background fabric is a heavy, deep red woven cotton. The collar is accented in a lovely machine embroidered flower circle and trimmed in a black velveteen.

This huipil is in very good used vintage condition, with a few signs of wear, mainly on the embroidered collar accent. This wonderfully larger huipil would be a stunning wall hanging or great for wear!

Very heavy and very large huipil with beautiful weaving and design! It is from Almolonga in the Quetzaltenango region of Guatemala. This expansive huipil measures 29″ across the shoulders, and 30″ – 36″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The panels are not all the same length. The neck opening is square and measures 4 3/4″ along each of the found sides with an additional 2 1/2″ tie-closed slit along one side to ease pulling over the head. The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This huipil is striking with the classic woven design of the Almolonga region but in an exquisite deep red color. The background fabric is a heavy, deep red woven cotton. The collar is accented in a lovely hand-guided, machine embroidered poinsettia flower accent with tiny glass beading at the center of each flower. The collar and sleeves are trimmed in a black velveteen.

This huipil is in very good used condition, with few signs of wear, perhaps a few loose threads. There is some slight wear on the randa stitching and a section near the bottom where the stitching between the panels has come open. This wonderfully larger huipil would be a stunning wall hanging or great for wear!

The neck opening is round and measures 4″ in diameter with an additional 3″ tie-closed slit along one to ease pulling over the head (note: this is a very small opening and will not fit over average adult head without alteration). The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This vintage huipil is unique with early woven design of the Almolonga region that features geomorphic designs of cats, dogs, corn plants, and zigzag rivers in a beautiful colors throughout the bodice on both sides. These designs are not often seen anymore. The background fabric is a heavy, deep red woven cotton. The collar is accented in a lovely machine embroidered flower circle and trimmed in a royal blue velveteen. The sleeves are trimmed in the same blue accent.
