Patzún

This mayan calendar style huipil is from the area of Patzún. This lovely tailored huipil measures 30″ across the shoulders, 23″ across the chest (just under the design), and 21″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6″ in diameter. The sleeve openings measure 4 1/2″.

This huipil is the most beautiful salmon colored and has the traditional feather ring around the collar that is trademark of the Patzún region. The mayan calendar ring is all hand embroidered in wonderful deep colors. The sleeves are trimmed in a similar style. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.

Please note that this is a very tailored huipil, and unlike other huipiles, cannot be opened along the sides in order to make it larger.

This huipil is in very good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. The bottom edge on one side shows where the extra thread was woven back into the huipil creating a running stock effect, (slightly lumpy at bottom edge). There is a very faint section on one side edge where a darker color has left a mark.

This flower-filled child’s huipil is from the area of Patzún. This lovely huipil measures 21″ across the shoulders (16″ wide across the mid/lower section), and 17 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is square and measures 5 1/2″ x 5″ in diameter.

 This huipil is a lovely green color and has machine embroidered flower and bird decoration throughout the upper bodice and on the sleeve caps. The collar and is trimmed in with a simple machine stitching. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.

 This huipil is in good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. There is some minor wear around the collar and a few loose threads.

The flowers are all hand embroidered in wonderful colors of reds, pinks, and purples and extend to both sides. The collar is trimmed in black crochet. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.

This huipil is in good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. The background fabric has slight creases where the shoulders had previously been gathered and stitched, but the stitching has been removed to extend the huipil to its full size. There is a small hole on one side just below the flowers on the right hand side. There are a few loose threads. This is a very lovely huipil.

This huipil is the most beautiful deep burgundy colored and has the traditional flower ring around the collar that is trademark of the Patzún region. The flowers are all hand embroidered in wonderful colors of reds, pinks, and purples. The shoulders are gathered and stitched, but the stitching can be removed to extend the huipil to its full size, thus increasing the width throughout. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.

This huipil is in very good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. The bottom edge shows where the extra thread was woven back into the huipil (slightly lumpy at bottom edge). This is common for this type of weaving.

The flowers are all hand embroidered in wonderful colors of reds, pinks, and purples and extend to both sides. The background fabric is an incredibly soft deep green. This huipil is wonderful to the touch and pleasing to the eyes!

This huipil is lovely with a hand embroidered flower design radiating from the collar and accenting the caps of the sleeves. The collar and sleeves also have black crochet trim accents. The flowers are purple and white with accenting flowers in yellow, blue, red, and orange.

The background fabric is an incredibly soft burgundy/red with bands of green, blue, yellow, and pink as stripes. This huipil is wonderful to the touch and pleasing to the eye!

This lovely huipil measures 37″ across the shoulders, and 23″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6″ in diameter.

This huipil is exquisite with a hand embroidered design radiating from the collar and accenting the caps of the sleeves. The sleeves also have black crochet trim. The style is that of the mayan calendar, with blocks of figures circling the neck opening. It is more similar to the vintage ceremonial style huipiles instead of the more modern ones of all flowers.

The background fabric is an incredibly soft burgundy/red with bands of green, blue, yellow, and pink as stripes. This huipil is wonderful to the touch and pleasing to the eye!

This huipil is in excellent used condition, with almost no sign of wear.
