San Juan la Laguna

Striking huipil from San Juan la Laguna. The collar is accented with the classic ‘sun’ design circling the neck opening that is most often seen in huipiles from Chichicastenango. This two lienzo huipil measures 34″ across the shoulders, and 17 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures approximately 5 1/2″ in diameter. The background fabric is a super soft deep burgundy-red woven cotton.

The accent around the collar is also red with a light cream color trim. This is also the same color scheme used down the center on both sides to join the panels. The background fabric is woven super fine and is buttery soft to the touch.

This is a very lovely huipil from San Juan la Laguna. It is in excellent condition with very little sign of wear.

San Juan la Laguna

Striking huipil from San Juan la Laguna. The collar is accented with the classic ‘square of squares’ design on both the front and back just below the ‘wavy water’ design circling the neck opening. This two lienzo huipil measures 30″ across the shoulders, and 26″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is slightly rectangular and measures 5″ x 6 1/4″. The background fabric is a thicker burgundy/cafe colored cotton blend.

This is a very classic example of the huipils from San Juan la Laguna. It is in great condition with very little sign of wear.

Super soft woven fabric in predominantly red colors accented with golds, greens, and blues. The collar is accented with the classic ‘square of squares’ design on both the front and back. This is a two lienzo huipil that measures 32″ across the shoulders, and 25″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 8 1/2″ in diameter.

This is a very fine and elegant example of the huipils from San Juan la Laguna. It is in excellent condition with very little sign of wear.
