Santo Domingo Xenacój

This color-filled huipil is from the area of Santo Domingo Xenacój. This lovely huipil measures 35″ across the shoulders, and 22″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6″ in diameter.

This huipil is the most beautiful deep burgundy colored and has the traditional animal and plant motif woven across the shoulders that is trademark of the Xenacój region. The weaving is done in wonderful colors of pinks, greens, blues, and purples. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton with stripes in accent colors.

This huipil is in very good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. Perhaps a few loose threads

Santo Domingo Xenacój

Tzute/servilleta from the Santo Domingo Xenacoj region of Guatemala. This textile measures 10 1/2″ wide, and 16″ long. It is made of a single panel with a hem at the open end.

This small tzute/servilleta is beautifully hand embroidered with stylized birds, zigzag patterns and traditional mayan crosses throughout the piece, with colorful accents. The colors are mostly deep greens, purples, and blues woven on a white cotton background. The birds are the beautiful bright green Quetzales of Guatemala.

It is in great condition, with very minimal signs of use.
