Santa Maria de Jesús
Full of Mayan figures! Very stunning embroidered huipil in unique white color! It is from the town of Santa Maria de Jesús, inspired by the designs of Santiago Atitlan. This very colorful huipil measures 26″ across the shoulders, and 28″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is rectangular shaped, and measures 7” x 5 1/2″.
This huipil is absolutely beautiful with brilliantly colored embroidery that features squares of various mayan figures in many shades of colors on each side. The collar is surrounded by embroidered colorful flowers with green leaves. The background is a crisp white commercial fabric. The embroidery is all machine done free-hand, and is truly an art form. Just amazing! This is a unique variation on the incredibly beautiful ‘fiesta’ huipiles of Santa Maria de Jesús.

This huipil is in very good used condition, with perhaps a few loose threads and no visible stains on the white fabric.
