Corte
Very lovely! Woven corte, or mayan skirt, ikat design with beautiful pastel colors with a super soft feel. The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth usually joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body and folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt).
This georgeous corte measures 35″ wide and 57″ long (doubled). Cortes are sewn together to make a tube. This corte has the opening at the long sides as shown in the picture of the corte hanging. If the stitching joining the sides of the tube were removed, this fabric would measure approximately 35″ by 116″ laid out flat.
This corte is beautiful with its ikat design that is accented with delicate gold thread. The colors are soothing shades of blue, purple, yellow and green.
This corte is in excellent used condition, with very little sign of wear.
