Delantal 401-0992Delantal (not village specific)

Beautiful delantal/apron full of flowers. Original mayan delantal made from the same fabric used for mayan cortes (skirts). This delantal is adorned with extensive hand-guided machine embroidered flowers that accent this apron. The edges have stitched openings that are accented with stitched flowers. There is machine stitched applique at the waist. There is a small amount of silver accent thread found in the machine stitching. This delantal measures 48″ around the waist (from tip of tie to tip of tie), 33″ across the widest part of (at the middle), 17″ across the waist (at the top edge, not including the ties), and 27″ from center of the waist to the bottom edge (length). This delantal has two hidden zippered pockets underneath.

These aprons are a must have for the women of Guatemala. It is very rare to pass through the market and see women that are not wearing an apron, and many times they are this beautiful style.

Additional photos can be found here.

This delantal is in very great used condition, with little sign of wear. Perhaps a few loose threads. The pocket zippers no longer work, but this does not detract from this wonderful apron!  It would look great as a decoration in the kitchen, or as a beautiful, useful apron.
