Delantal (not village specific)
Beautiful delantal/apron with simple flower-trimmed design. Original mayan delantal made from the same fabric used for mayan cortes (skirts). This delantal is adorned with extensive hand-guided machine embroidery that runs around the edges of this apron with small gold accenting in the center of each flower. This delantal measures 56″ around the waist (from tip of tie to tip of tie), 36″ across the widest part of (at the middle), 16 1/2″ across the waist (at the top edge, not including the ties), and 29 1/2″ from center of the waist to the bottom edge (length). This delantal has two functional ‘secret’ pockets. The pockets are hidden on the underneath of the delantal and are zippered. There is one on each side. These aprons are a must have for the women of Guatemala. It is very rare to pass through the market and see women that are not wearing an apron, and many times they are this beautiful style.
This delantal is in very good used condition, with little sign of wear. Perhaps a few loose threads and thinning of the fabric in a few tiny spots. It would look great as a decoration in the kitchen, or as a beautiful, useful apron.
