Nahualá

Striking faja (belt) made in the town of Nahualá. Fajas are used as the belt to hold up the corte (skirt) in the mayan traje or outfit. This beautiful faja measures 114″ long, and 8” wide. The woven geomorphic figure design runs approximately 25” on each side for the larger sections and about 5″ each for the small sections on the ends.

This faja is woven in a stunning purple themed section on one side and red themed section on the opposite side. The end sections are similar in the predominately red backgrounds. The are covered with geomorphic woven figures in a rainbow of colors. The background fabric is a black cotton woven fabric with burgundy red stripes.

This faja is in good used condition with some minor sign of wear, including a few loose threads and some very faint staining in the lighter areas.
