San Juan Sacatepéquez

San Juan Sacatepéquez

Striking faja (belt) made in the town of San Juan Sacatepéquez. Fajas are used as the belt to hold up the corte (skirt) in the mayan traje or outfit. This beautiful faja measures 86″ long, not including the fringe which measure and additional 5” on each end. It also measures 3” wide. The woven geomorphic figure design runs approximately 70” of the total length.

This faja is woven in a stunning yellow, purple, and burgundy color and is accented with geomorphic woven figures in colores of green, blue, gold, and pink in the traditional style of San Juan Sacatepéquez.

This faja is in very good used condition with very little sign of wear, perhaps a few loose threads. There is a small round dark stain near the end where there is no design.
