Chajul

Beautiful classic huipil from Chajul. This huipil measures 33″ across the shoulders, 21″ from the neckline to the bottom edges. The neck opening is square and measures 5″ along each of the four sides. The sides have been stitched closed to create armholes.

This huipil is lovely with traditional geomorphic figures including the double headed eagle and a row of ducks woven on a black woven background. The design is a mix of yellow, turquoise, white, green, purple, and grey colors. The design is classic for the town of Chajul with figures of birds and other creatures. The shoulders are decorated in a rainbow of colors. The background fabric is medium to heavy weight woven cotton.

This huipil is in very good used condition, with a few signs of wear. Perhaps some loose threads.
