Lovely Classic Vintage Huipil from Chichicastenango. Traditional tapestry style with beautiful floral design. Fantastic texture and color. Very stunning embroidered huipil from the Chichicastenango region of Guatemala, famous for having one of the largest markets in the country.
This three panel huipil is striking with elaborate embroidery that features lifelike multi-colored flowers with leaves throughout the body and shoulders in pink, orange, blue, and green. The neckline is decorated with the radiating sun in various shades of red accented with black velvet. The background fabric is soft brown cotton. The lower edges on one side have the ‘running-stock effect’, where the extra thread was woven back into the body.
This huipil is in great used condition, with minimal sign of wear.
