Chichicastenango

Classic Vintage Huipil from Chichicastenango! Traditional tapestry style with beautiful floral design. Fantastic texture and color! Very stunning embroidered huipil from the Chichicastenango region of Guatemala, famous for having one of the largest markets in the country. This huipil measures 33″ across the shoulders, 24″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6″ in diameter.

This three panel huipil is striking with elaborate embroidery that features multi-colored flowers throughout the body and shoulders in pink, orange, blue, and green. The neckline is decorated with the radiating sun in various shades of red accented with black velvet. The background fabric is white cotton.

This huipil is in fair used condition, with a few flaws. There are about 4 tiny pin-size holes in the white body on one side from storage. Also, there are a few spots of faint purple where the color ran onto the white.
