Stunning huipil from the Chichicastenango region. Traditional tapestry style with beautiful designs and incredible colors. Fantastic texture too! This is a very beautiful huipil from the Chichicastenango region of Guatemala, famous for having one of the largest markets in the country. This huipil measures 30.5″ across the shoulders, 30″ across the chest, 25″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The smaller neck opening is round and measures 5″ in diameter with an additional 2.5″ snap-closed slit to aid in pulling over the head. The sides have been stitched to create armholes.
This three panel huipil is striking with elaborate weaving that features a lovely multicolored classic flower design throughout the body and shoulders in colors of pinks and oranges with green leaves on a grey background design. The neckline is decorated with the design of a radiating sun, traditional for the region. The background fabric is woven black cotton.

This huipil is in excellent used condition, with perhaps a few loose threads and little sign of wear. This is a stunning textile for wear or display!
