Very lovely large hand woven huipil, accented with traditional mayan figures! It is from Chuarrancho. This large and elegant huipil measures 40 1/2″ across the shoulders, and 25″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5 1/2″ in diameter, with a 1 1/2″ slit in the front to allow for pulling over the head. The sides have had the stitching removed to open the arm holes, but can easily be restitched if desired.

This huipil is very beautiful with a hand woven pattern throughout the blouse. It includes the classic diamonds, mayan suns, corn plants, and triangles representing the mountains, rain, and rivers. The huipil has a rainbow of colors including the predominant pinks and purples. The woven background is basic white cotton. This is a classic example of the incredibly beautiful huipiles of the Chuarrancho region.

This huipil is in very good used condition, with minimal sign of wear, perhaps a few loose threads. There is some slight fading of the color on one half of one side, perhaps due to how it was stored.
