Very elegant huipil, full of birds and flowers! It is from the town of Comalapa. This lovely huipil measures 31″ across the shoulders, and 24″ – 27″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The front and back are not the same length. The neck opening is rectangular shaped and measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 6″.

This huipil is absolutely beautiful with its deep purple and blue colors and hand weaving that features rows of beautiful flowers and birds alternating with mayan stars and zigzag rivers. The shoulders are decorated with designs of calla lily flowers. The background is woven black cotton blend. This huipil was woven with the inspiration of the designs from San Antonio Aguas Calientes.

This huipil is in very good used condition, with little sign of wear such as a few loose threads. There appears to be a tiny repair of 1/2″ circular in the bodice that is almost invisible to the eye. The lower section has areas of loose threads where the extra warp was woven back into the huipil.
