714 Nahuala-1049Nahualá

Stunning design huipil from the Nahualá region of Guatemala. This elegant huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, 22″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded), and the collar is an opening between the panels in both front and back and measures 10″ in length. The sides have been stitched to create arm holes for wearing.

This huipil is a stunning pink woven design with accents in black, blue, green, and orange. There is a pink hue to the background design. The design has some lustrina threads, with some of the classic Nahualá color run around the edges. The pattern is primarily geomorphic designs across the shoulders. This huipil is light/medium weight, woven on a cotton background. On one side at the lower edge is a ‘running stock’ effect of weaving where the extra thread is woven back into the textile. This is common with huipiles from this region.

This huipil is in very good used condition with perhaps a few loose threads. There is some very faint discoloration or stains in a couple of places, but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this wonderful huipil. This is a stunning textile, great for wear or for display!
