This flower-filled huipil is from the area of Patzún. This lovely huipil measures 35″ across the shoulders, and 21 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6 1/2″ in diameter.
This huipil is the most beautiful rose/salmon colored and has the traditional flower ring around the collar that is trademark of the Patzún region. The flowers are all hand embroidered in wonderful colors of reds, pinks, and purples and extend to both sides. The collar and sleeves are trimmed in black crochet. The background fabric is super soft woven cotton.
This huipil is in good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. The background fabric has slight creases where the shoulders had previously been gathered and stitched, but the stitching has been removed to extend the huipil to its full size. The bottom edge shows where the extra thread was woven back into the huipil, running stock effect, (slightly lumpy at bottom edge).
