This vintage flower-filled huipil is from the area of Patzún. This lovely huipil measures 34″ across the shoulders, and 20″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6 1/2″ in diameter. The sides have been stitched to create arm holes, but can be easily opened to have it lay flat.

This huipil is the most unique teal-tinted green color and has the traditional flower ring around the collar that is trademark of the Patzún region. The flowers are all hand embroidered in wonderful colors of blues, yellows, pinks, and purples and extends to both sides. The embroidery is slightly different from the traditional Patzún freestyle flowers; it is more of a straight needlepoint style of work. The colors and flowers give it an heirloom feeling. The background fabric is the classic super soft woven cotton.

This huipil is in good used condition with a few minor signs of wear. The bottom edge shows where the extra thread was woven back into the huipil, running stock effect, (slightly lumpy at bottom edge). One side has a seam across the chest (shown in photo) and there appears to be a small snag in the fabric at one spot along the seam. There are a few loose threads.
