Patzun 380-0512Patzún

Super sweet, smaller ‘mayan calendar’ design huipil with beautiful weaving and striking embroidery! Perfect for a younger girl (age 6 – 10). It is from Patzún in the Chimaltenango region of Guatemala. This lovely huipil measures 26″ across the shoulders, and 18″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5″ in diameter, with a small 1/2″ slit in the front and the back to ease pulling over the head. The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This huipil is exquisite with a hand embroidered design radiating from the collar. The sleeves are capped with coordinating embroidery. The style is that of the mayan calendar, with blocks of flowers and feathers circling the neck opening in a rainbow of colors. It is more similar to the vintage ceremonial style huipiles instead of the more modern ones of all flowers.

The background fabric is an incredibly soft burgundy/red with bands colored stripes. This huipil is wonderfully soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye!

This huipil is in very used condition, with a few loose threads in the embroidery and a couple of very small worn spots. A truly lovely huipil, perfect for a young girl or for display!
