Beautiful huipil from the Quetzaltenango/Xela region in Guatemala. This huipil measures 36″ across the shoulders, and 28″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 5 1/2” in diameter and has an additional 1 1/2″ slit on one side to allow more headroom.

The colors are a sea of purple, bright pink, and yellow/gold, with purple, white, and red flowers cascading down the front and back and adorning the neckline. Joining the flowers around the collar is a darling bluebird on one side and a darling duck in a bonnet on the other. Both the collar and sleeves are trimmed with a black crochet trim.

This huipil is in good used condition. There is some slight wear in the form of a couple of loose threads and a slight amount of discoloration in the lower white section where the pink has faded into the white cotton. The black section at the bottom has faded a bit as well.
