Wonderfully soft and beautiful huipil from the Quetzaltenango/Xela region in Guatemala. This huipil measures 33″ across the shoulders, and 24 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6” in diameter.

The colors are a sea of purple, pink, and yellow/gold. The collar is trimmed with machine embroidery of flowers in purple and blue and an accent of birds in the center of the collar and flower accents running down both sides from the shoulders. The collar and sleeves are trimmed with burgundy vevet-like accent in like new condition. The background fabric is black cotton.

Additional photos can be found here.

This huipil is in very good used condition. There are a few loose threads and possible faint staining in the lower black section. There is wear along the bottom edge of the black cotton fabric with some hanging loose threads and open areas.
