San Juan Sacatepéquez

Very striking huipil! This fairly large huipil is from the town of San Juan Sacatepéquez. This lovely huipil measures 35” across the shoulders, and 22 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is diamond shaped and each side measures 5”.

This huipil is beautiful with its deep colors of burgundy, royal blue, and gold/yellow that features the traditional animal motifs found in the huipiles of San Juan Sacatepéquez, including the feathered serpent. The colors of the figures are yellow, royal blue, and green. The collar and sleeve openings are trimmed in black crochet.

Additional photos can be found here.

This huipil is in good used condition, with very little sign of wear, perhaps slight color variations.
