776 San Juan Sacatepequez-2272San Juan Sacatepéquez

This very large vintage huipil is from the town of San Juan Sacatepéquez. This lovely huipil measures 41” across the shoulders, 39″ across the chest, and 24″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is square and measures 4.5″ x 6″. The sides have been left open, as is common in huipiles from this area

This much older huipil is beautiful with its colors of green, red, royal blue, and gold/yellow that features the traditional animal motifs found in the huipiles of San Juan Sacatepéquez, including the feathered serpent. The colors of the figures are yellow, royal blue, and green. The collar is trimmed in black velvet.

This huipil is in excellent used condition for a vintage textile, with little sign of wear. There is some fading of the color due to age and storage. This is a large, heavy, and lovely textile!
