725 San Martin Jilotepeque-1383San Martin Jilotepeque

Simple yet elegant daily use huipil from the San Martin Jilotepeque region in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. This huipil measures 28″ across the shoulders, and 22″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is more or less round (scalloped) and measures 6 3/4″ diameter. The side stitching has been removed but is easily restitched to create armholes.

This light and soft huipil is woven with a more open style weaving. The colors are burnt-red, brown, and tan in a classic Mayan design. It is woven with a cotton background that is light tan in color. It is soft and lightweight, making it comfortable to wear.

Additional photos can be found here.

This huipil is in good used condition. There are a few loose threads and some wear at the shoulders and under the arm openings. It would be wonderful for display or wear!
