Stunning huipil full of people! This huipil is from the town of Tactic in the region of Alta Verapaz. This lovely huipil measures 31” across the shoulders, 28″ across the chest, and 19″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is rectangular and measures 7” x 6”. This huipil has plenty of room for the head.

This huipil is elegant with its various shades of greens throughout the body. The weaving is accented with traditional birds and mayan men and women in the bodice, and deer and mayan stars around the collar and sleeves. The colors are olive-brown, green, and slate blue.  There is much use of arti-seda thread in this huipil. The background fabric is a medium weight woven black cotton.

This huipil is in good used condition, with a little sign of wear in the form of some loose threads in the center of the bodice, and some very subtle fading of the color in a few areas.
