Lovely huipil full of iridescent birds, rivers, and mayan stars! This huipil is from the town of Tactic in the region of Alta Verapaz. This lovely huipil measures 28” across the shoulders, 27″ across the chest, and 26″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is square and measures approximately 6” x 6″. The sides have been stitched to create armholes.

This striking huipil is colorful with its mayan geomorphic designs throughout. The weaving is accented with traditional birds, rivers, and mayan stars in the bodice. The colors are beautiful sea blues and greens. There is much use of arti-seda thread in this huipil giving it an iridescent glow. The background fabric is a medium weight black cotton.
