Striking vintage huipil full of geomorphic figures! This slightly smaller huipil is from the town of Tamahú in the region of Alta Verapaz. This older huipil measures 24” across the shoulders, and 15″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is diamond shaped and measures 4 1/2” along each of the four sides. The stitching along the sides has been removed to allow this huipil to open fully.
This three panel, all cotton huipil is full of rows of figures including mayan stars, diamonds, and birds. The background is panels of red and white woven cotton.

This huipil is in fair used condition, with sign of wear in the form of some loose threads, overall wear, and some slight staining. A great vintage textile!
