This striking huipil is from the area of Tecpán. This lovely huipil measures 34” across the shoulders, and 28″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded), The neck opening is scalloped shaped and measures approximately 5″ in diameter with an additional 3″ tie-closed slit to allow it to pull easily over average sized adult head. The sides have been partially sewn to create armholes. They can be either stitched closed completely leaving only the armholes, or opened completely for laying flat for display.

This huipil has wonderfully bright colors and hand weaving that features flowers in rows throughout the textile. The colors are shades of pinks, purples, greens, reds and yellows. There is black velveteen trim accenting the collar and sweet machine embroidered flowers running down from the neckline on both sides. The background fabric is heavier woven cotton blend.
