Todos Santos Cuchumatán

Cats, cats, and more cats! Classic older huipil with beautiful colors from the town of Todos Santos Cuchumatán. This daily use huipil measures 30″ across the shoulders, 28″ across the chest, and 23″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is scallop shaped and if measured round, measures approximately 5 1/4″ in diameter (very, very small for adult head-would possibly need altering to fit). The sides have been sewn to create armholes.

This lovely vintage huipil is striking with whimsical woven designs that feature cats throughout the bodice on both sides. The huipil is accented around the collar with purple velveteen and radiating lines of applique that is classic to the area. The sleeve openings are also trimmed with purple velveteen. The background fabric is red medium weight soft woven cotton.

Additional photos can be found here.

This vintage huipil is in very excellent used condition, with little sign of wear. There is a 3/4″ section of the teal trim around the collar that has worn away. That is the only visible sign of wear. A wonderful huipil!
