883 Zunil verde-4203Zunil

Early vintage threads and design! This lovely huipil is from Zunil, in the Quetzaltenango region of Guatemala. This unique huipil measures 31″ across the shoulders, 31″ across the chest,  and 23″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures approximately 5.25″ in diameter. The sides have been stitched to create armholes.

This huipil is woven with cotton blend threads that is common for the Zunil region. It has large red and brown leaf-style designs done in hand embroidery in all cotton threads that surround the collar. The collar and sleeve openings are trimmed in acrylic thread crochet. Lovely and unique pattern!

This huipil is in very good used condition, with some slight wear in the cotton thread design. A stunning textile!
