Tactic #135

Tactic

Stunning huipil full of deer! This huipil is from the town of Tactic in the region of Alta Verapaz. This lovely huipil measures 28” across the shoulders, and 24″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is rectangular and measures 8” x 6 1/2”. This huipil has plenty of room for the head.

This huipil is elegant with its deep bronze tones throughout the body. The weaving is accented with traditional deer and mayan stars in the bodice. The colors are copper-brown, burgundy, and blue with accents of white, pink, and green. The sleeves are accented with black crochet trim. There is much use of arti-seda thread in this huipil. There is an extra panel of commercial cotton/acrylic fabric sewn to the bottom edge of this huipil to extend the length. This can easily be removed.

This huipil is in good used condition, with a little sign of wear in the form of some loose threads in the center of the bodice.
