Description
Very elegant huipil, full of birds and flowers! It is from the town of Comalapa. This lovely huipil measures 27″ across the shoulders, 25″ across the chest, and 20″ – 23″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The panels are different lengths. The neck opening is rectangular shaped and measures approximately 7″ x 6″.
This huipil is absolutely beautiful with its deep purple colors and hand weaving that features rows of beautiful flowers and birds alternating with mayan stars and zigzag rivers. The shoulders are decorated with designs of daisy flowers. The background is woven soft black cotton blend. This huipil was woven with the inspiration of the designs from San Antonio Aguas Calientes.
This huipil is in very good used condition, with little sign of wear such as a few loose threads. The lower section has areas of loose threads where the extra warp was woven back into the huipil.
