One of a kind striking vintage folk-art huipil blouse from the San Andres Xecul region in Guatemala.
Can be worn or stunningly displayed in your home!
Vintage huipil from the village of San Andres Xecul. This huipil is beautiful with its extensive hand-guided machine embroidery, full of animals! It is sewn on a light/medium weight cotton blend commercial fabric in an aqua green color. The collar is decorated with many animals radiating from the opening and also on the sleeve openings. The huipil measures 32″ across the shoulders, 30″ across the chest, and 28 1/2″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is circular and measures 6 1/4″ in diameter (a snug fit over average sized head). The sides are stitched closed creating armholes.
This huipil is in good used condition, with a little sign of wear, a few loose threads, some wear at the head and sleeve openings, and a tiny hole under the sleeve openings. A beautiful and unique vintage work of art!
