Description
Beautiful huipil from the Patzicía area of Guatemala. This detailed huipil measures 32 1/2″ across the shoulders, and 20″ (back shorter than front) from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is circular (scalloped shaped) and measures 6” in diameter. The sides have been stitched closed to create armholes.
This huipil has the classic geomorphic shapes throughout the bodice that is the style of huipiles from Patzicía. The accents are in a rainbow of colors. They are woven on a super soft deep burgundy, striped cotton background fabric that is very popular in the Patzicía and Patzun areas. This super soft weaving is of a medium weight.
This huipil is in very good used condition. There is very slight wear around the collar and a few loose threads. Nothing to detract from this piece of art. A very striking huipil for wear display!
