Woven corte, or mayan skirt, in soft pewter grey colors with lovely ikat design and metallic accents! The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth usually joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body, folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt). This simple yet elegant corte measures 44″ wide and 81″ long (laid flat). Cortes are generally sewn together to make a tube for wearing.
This corte is beautiful with its soft pewter grey colors and ikat design that is accented with with metallic thread that makes this corte glow. This is a lighter weight.
Fabric from cortes can be used in a variety of ways besides just for wearing, such as table covers, bed covers, curtains, throw pillows, clothing, etc. due to the heavier and more durable nature of the weaving.
This corte is in very good used condition, with little to no sign of wear, perhaps a few loose threads. A lovely textile!
