Great textured huipil with colorful flowers! It is from the town of Comalapa. This lovely huipil measures 29″ across the shoulders, 28.5″ across the chest*, and 22″ from the shoulders to the lower edge. The head opening is more or less square and measures 6.5″ x 6.5″ (generous). The sides have been stitched to create armholes. *The sides of this huipil have been taken in approximate 2″ on each side and if removed, would make this a much wider huipil
This huipil is unique with its deep rich colors and hand weaving accented with soft thread that features beautiful flowers and birds in the classic style of Comalapa. The woven threads are a mix of wine-red and black with accent colors of olive green, pink, and yellow. The shoulders have matching designs. The background is lighter weight hand woven cotton/acrylic blend.
This huipil is in excellent used condition, with few signs of wear, perhaps a few loose threads. A lovely textile!
